Aristotle Academy

Warren Shenk will be teaching history and geography and acting as a mentor for all middle school teachers. He has spent 38 years in public education. He received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, where he was a Graduate Assistant for the basketball program under the direction of Coach Bob Knight. It was Coach Knight who arraigned for and prepared Mr. Shenk for an interview resulting in his first teaching and coaching position at Batesville Middle School in Indiana.

Mr. Shenk earned his Master’s degree from Brigham Young University in Curriculum Design & Development and his Ed.S in Educational Administration from the University of Utah while teaching U.S. History and World Geography at Payson Jr. High in Payson, Utah. His interest in charter schools began as a graduate student, at the U of U, while working with his professor, former Secretary of Education, Dr. T. H. Bell.

For fourteen years, Mr. Shenk traveled daily, from his home in Springville to Evanston, WY, where he was employed as an AP U.S. History teacher, assistant high school principal, and an elementary principal.

Since 2005, Mr. Shenk has been involved with the growth of charter schools in Utah and Utah County. He has served as principal of Reagan Academy and as assistant director/teacher at Rockwell Charter High School. He is looking forward, with great anticipation, to working with the students and the parents of Aristotle Academy. Mr. Shenk is dedicated to providing his students a learning environment that is focused, challenging, fun and safe.

Separate from his classroom responsibilities, Mr. Shenk serves on the Alumni Council of the American Gathering of Jewish Holocaust Survivors & Descendants. He is also a Mandel Fellow with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
